Vietnam says China attacked four ships near a controversial oil rig in the South China Sea , injuring three officers , Wednesday ( 28/5 ) .
Head of Surveillance Department of Fisheries of Vietnam, Nguyen Ngoc OAI , told VOA broadcasts in Vietnamese scout ship and one of three fishing boats surrounded Wednesday China's eight to 10 ships before being hit and attacked with water cannons .
China has not responded to the allegations Vietnam .
Both countries have traded accusations after throwing a Vietnamese fishing boat sank Tuesday . Vietnam said the wooden boat was sunk after being hit by Chinese ships , while China said the ship was " disturbing and overturned after colliding with a Chinese fishing boat . "
The ships Vietnam and China have clashed repeatedly since May 1 , after China 's move oil rigs into regions which are considered Vietnam a part of its exclusive economic zone . VOA
