Somalia Capture 2 Senior al-Shabab commander

The Somali government said it had arrested two senior al-Shabab commander, one of the suspects in the bombing that killed over 20 people.

Somali officials on Monday (31/3) showing two men in front of reporters in town Qoryoley - but did not release their names pending further investigation.

Somalia Deputy Security Minister Ibrahim Isak Yarow told VOA Somali broadcast one of two men suspected of involvement in a suicide bombing at the headquarters of the African Union peacekeepers in Mogadishu in 2009.

The attack killed 21 people - 17 of them African soldiers including the deputy force commander.

Another person who was arrested is said to be trainer Amniyat - an elite unit in charge of al-Shabab missions suicide bombings, intelligence and murder.
