U.S. Invest U.S. $ 1.2 Million for Geothermal Energy

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources ( ESDM ) Siswo Susilo Utomo said in Jakarta on Monday ( 25/11 ) , Indonesia has a renewable energy source that is abundant , including the potential for geothermal power in the world.

The potential energy efficiency improvements in the user sector is still quite large .

The Indonesian government has set a target of sufficient renewable energy production .

To achieve these targets , required the participation of the private sector to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency .

Currently the U.S. Department of Energy launched the Sustainable Energy for Remote Indonesia Grids ( SERIG ) worth U.S. $ 1.2 million for the development of new renewable energy in Indonesia .

And Milstein , Senior Advisor of International Relations U.S. Department of Energy said that Indonesia has a renewable energy resource that is outstanding, and the private sector will be interested to invest if they are confident that they will produce keuntumgan of introducing renewable energy into the market .

" One way is to determine the right price for the electricity generated from these projects . Alternatively dengam minimize bureaucracy is hampering investment in the field of renewable energies , " said Dan Milstein .
