The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras) urged local governments and legislators Lampung Province actively push for justice and the rights of victims and their families Talangsari.

The call was delivered Contrast with Student Executive Board (BEM) and the University of Lampung Victims and Families Association Talangsari Tragedy Victims (PK2TL) in Lampung audience with the Chairman of Parliament Marwan Cik Asan, Friday (02/08/2013).

Coordinator of the Working Kontras, Haris Azhar, said that for 24 years, Talangsari tragedy victims and their families have not found justice cases related to alleged human rights abuses by the military in 1989. Komnas HAM has handed the investigation case file to the Attorney General on October 23, 2008, but until now there has been no follow-up.

"This case has not been followed up to the investigation. Fact, Law no. 26 Year 2000 on Human Rights Court has given a mandate to the National Human Rights Commission as a state agency with the authority to conduct investigations of alleged human rights violations, and the Attorney General as an investigator and prosecutor," he said through a press release.

To resolve the legal deadlock, he said, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security has established a Small Team Handling Cases of Serious Human Rights Violations Past to seek the best resolution format. "The team has visited Talangsari (East Lampung) and had a meeting with the victim. They recommend to East Lampung regency and Lampung provincial government to build Talangsari more active role in order not to lag behind the other regions," he said.

To that end, they urged the government in order to facilitate the construction of basic infrastructure kinds of electricity, water and roads in Talangsari, without discrimination or stigmatization.
